The MC13201 is the 2nd generation 2.4 GHz band transceiver designed for wireless sensing and control applications that require low-cost, simple point-to-point and star networks. It builds on the first generation product by integrating a transmit/receive switch that lowers the overall component count, size and cost of the solution. The MC13201 includes a complete packet modem capable of formatting data into packets with 125 byte payload. It has an over the air data rate of 250 kbps using O-QPSK modulation and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) coding. The MC13201 radio targets proprietary applications that require wireless point-to-point or star networks and included the Freescale Simple MAC (SMAC) software.
The four wire serial peripheral interface (SPI) allows interface to a variety of processors, providing developers to tailor the solution to meet their needs. Freescale offers a variety of MCU that range from 8 to 32bit that easily connects to the MC13201.
